Eating Local: Community Gardens

Last edited by OrangeClouds115, April 4, 2009

Community gardens and urban farms are a growing trend as more and more urbanites look for sources of fresh, healthy food. A community garden is a garden, often divided into individual plots, in which people who do not have yards of their own can participate in gardening and grow their own food. An urban farm is a similar concept, but often larger than a community garden and run collectively instead of in individual plots. For a fantastic example of an urban farm, check out Milwaukee's Growing Power.
